Aanya is a solid AD who adapts quickly and delivers things that clients buy. Her agility lets her jump from AT&T to Canon. Each of our clients has about 2-3 brand guidelines that need memorizing and adherence, which evolve and grow in time, making the effort more involved. She can jump from one client to the next with ease, and the client usually chooses her work. With that said, she can have client facing moments but still scope down to getting her hands dirty making the work so awesome that the CCO even had good comments. Oh, and she's cool to work with, no attitude aside from can do.
I had the pleasure to work directly with Aanya on marketing collateral for one of my top clients. She quickly understood the deliverable and the client's brand, while infusing her creativity to provide gorgeous layouts. She has a deep understanding for not only the aesthetic, but the function of each piece. Her work is impressive, innovative and creative. When I first encountered Aanya at ArtCenter she was helping lower term students with cogent critiques, essentially mentoring them.
When I had her as a student I found her inquisitive, always asking a panoply of questions. She likes to challenge herself more than most. I found her super smart and sometimes challenging with me with her wit because she knew I enjoyed my students pushing back when they were solid on an idea.
When I critiqued her creative it had depth, sometimes crazy creative, always smart, always on brief. It’s a habit of mine to request my students do more on each assignment because they are learning what is good which was never her problem. When she took my writing class (I’m a verbal art director) she chose as her blog to review the good, the bad and the ugly of social media. It was a lesson the class will never forget. It was informative, funny and intense. She is an excellent writer by the way. No doubt she will challenge her writer partners with pithy, helpful feedback.
This young woman is very wise, very multi-talented rest assured. Honestly, it’s like she could play 7 instruments of a full orchestra. When we had conversations about school life I found her curious on many topics with fluidity.
When you meet Aanya, and I hope you do, you will witness her effervescent personality, her enthusiasm about what is possible. Trust me it is contagious. It was an honor to have her in 4-5 of my classes. I witnessed a person who will; in her own way, in her own time, make this world a better place.
